Post Doctoral Researcher (NEMBES), Department of Computer Science

College of Science, Engineering & Food Science

The Mobile & Internet Systems Laboratory (MISL) and Cork Constraint Computation Centre (4C) have recently been awarded a substantial research grant under the Irish Government’s HEA PRTLI-4 programme. NEMBES is an inter-institutional multi-disciplinary research grant with a broad remit in the area of networked embedded systems. It adopts a “whole system” view of networked embedded systems, involving researchers from electronic engineering, computer science, civil/environmental engineering and architecture, working closely with end-users at Cork City Council and Cork University Hospital. The focus of NEMBES research at MISL and 4C will be on the design and operation of wireless sensor networks to achieve certain communication and functional performance targets.

The NEMBES team at MISL/4C will comprise two post-doctoral researchers and three PhD students, together with three faculty members. Applications for the following position are now solicited:

Post-Doctoral Researcher (NEMBES)

Applications are encouraged from those with research experience in related areas such as protocol design, network planning, and network design optimization.

Applicants should hold a PhD in computer science/engineering and excellent inter-personal skills. The successful applicant will receive gross salary of Euro39,647 - 48,210 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. The position is available for a period of two years.
