Postdoctoral Researcher - Epigenetics, miRNAs & cancer

The Genetics & Biotechnology Lab of Dr. Charles Spillane (University College Cork - UCC, Cork, Ireland) and the Epigenomics lab of Dr. John Greally (Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York, USA) are seeking applications from highly motivated scientists for a joint NCI:HRB funded postdoctoral position. The successful applicant will conduct research on microRNAs and epigenetics, in the context of furthering understanding of cancer aetiology.

The position will be funded for 3 years, with the postdoc spending the first year at UCC, the second year at the newly established Centre for Epigenomics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and the final year at UCC. The applicant will work closely with a range of existing researchers working on miRNAs and epigenetics in both of the partner labs.

Applicants should have some experience of one or more the following areas in mammalian systems: miRNAs, epigenetics, microarrays/tiling arrays, ChIP-on-chip, cancer signalling pathways. Experience of microarray analysis using Bioconductor (including proficiency in the R statistical language) and an affinity for combined wet-lab:bioinformatic approaches to research would be an advantage.
