The Accounting/Finance group, within the Department of Accounting, Finance and Information Systems at University College Cork wishes to offer a number of PhD bursaries.Applications are invited for up to 3 Doctoral Studentships in Corporate Finance and/or up to 3 Doctoral Studentships in Accounting.The successful applicants will be expected to carry out doctoral research leading to the award of the Ph.D. degree, and to undertake (tutorial) teaching duties in Accounting and/or Corporate Finance subject to the requirements of the department.The bursaries will be worth €20,000 annually and will be tenable for up to 3 years in each case, subject to performance in both research and teaching duties.
The Accounting/Finance group comprises sixteen full-time academic staff: supplemented by several regular part-time members. It is responsible for teaching and research in Accounting and Corporate Finance. Accounting & Finance offers the BSc (Accounting) Degree programme and is also responsible, jointly with the Department of Economics, for the BSc (Finance). In addition, it provides courses for many of the other undergraduate degree programmes in the Faculty of Commerce and UCC in general.
Accounting & Finance offers the MBS (Corporate Finance and Accounting) as well as MSc Degrees by research in both Accounting and Finance and the recently introduced Higher Diploma in Accounting and Corporate Finance and the Department offers the MBS (Management Information and Managerial Accounting Systems). Currently there are several doctoral candidates studying in the Accounting & Corporate Finance area.
