Whole-time permanent lectureship in the Study of Religions
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of the Republic of Ireland’s first department devoted to the multidisciplinary and cross-cultural study of religions. This year saw the first intake of students to the BA programme ‘Religions and Global Diversity’ and new MA and PhD programmes are under development. Following the appointment of Professor Brian Bocking to lead the programme, we are looking for a highly qualified and motivated lecturer with the potential to draw local and international students at all levels to the study of religions at Cork. The department is expected to grow substantially over the next 10 years.
Successful candidates will hold a relevant PhD. Evidence of a personal contribution and commitment to excellence in both teaching and research is required.
Salary scale [new entrants]: €35,610- €57,847
There is provision for subsequent progression to a higher salary scale, max. €83,504 per annum
