College Lecturer & Lecturer Practioner Posts [2 posts-Intellectual Disability Nursing & 1 post-Midwifery]
The School of Nursing and Midwifery is located at a purpose built state of the art facility at Brookfield Health Sciences Complex, University College Cork. It is a constituent School of the College of Medicine and Health along with the Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy and Clinical Therapies. The School of Nursing and Midwifery offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in collaboration with diverse Health Service Providers.
Applications are invited for the above full time permanent College Lecturer or Lecturer Practitioner posts.
For the posts in Intellectual Disability, applicants must hold registration as an Intellectual Disability Nurse.
Applicants for the Midwifery post must be a registered midwife.
Applicants will hold professional nursing or midwife qualifications and hold registration in one or more divisions of the register held by An Bord Altranais. In addition, applicants must hold a Degree at Masters level.
Appointees to Lectureship posts will be required to commit to completing studies leading to a PhD qualification within a reasonable period of time. Applicants must also demonstrate evidence of progression in research, for example, publications and conference presentations. Experience in teaching both in the classroom and in clinical areas is required.
Post holders will be expected to lecture on aspects of nursing/midwifery associated with their registrable qualification across programmes and take some administrative responsibilities. All appointees are expected to engage in clinical practice. For those appointed as Lecturer Practitioners it is envisaged that up to 50% of the post-holders workload will involve active engagement in a clinical setting.
Salary scales [new entrants]: €36,500 - €59,293 Bar €64,974 - €85,592 p.a.
