CHAIR IN THE STUDY OF RELIGIONS
College of Arts, Cletic Studies and Social Sciences
The University is in the process of introducing, a new discipline, the Study of Religions, within the University’s BA degree from September 2007. This will be followed by further developments within the undergraduate degree and at Masters and Doctoral levels.
Applications for the position of Chair in the Study of Religions, within the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences are invited from suitably qualified individuals . The successful candidate will be expected to provide leadership in the discipline’s internal and external roles, in its curriculum development, and in research.
Applicants should have a doctoral qualification in Religious studies or cognate area , a specialism in an area supportive of the development of the degree programme, a strong record of research in the study of religions, experience of academic management at an appropriate level, the ability to lead the development of the discipline and its curriculum, and proven experience of university teaching.

Salary scale (new entrants): €109,104 - €140,385
