CHAIR IN ENGLISH (MEDIEVAL AND RENAISSANCE)
The Department of English is one of the largest and most successful departments in the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences. With a permanent academic staff of eighteen teaches a full range of degree programs from BA to PhD.The Department is ambitious to further its development especially with regard to doctoral and post doctoral programs.
University College Cork wishes to recruit an outstanding scholar with the vision and drive to lead the Department of English in Medieval and Renaissance English over the period c. 1100 to 1670.
Applicants must have:
- A doctoral qualification in English;
- The ability to provide strategic vision and leadership in the development of the discipline of English;
- Interpersonal skills commensurate with leading and supporting a team of committed academic and administrative colleagues in the Department
- An internationally established scholarly and research reputation in Medieval & Renaissance English studies, as evidenced by a record of scholarly publications, in journals and books;

Salary Scale (new entrants): €109,104 - €140,385 p.a.
