Researcher Conference 2017
Today's Researcher - Mobility is Key
HR RESEARCHER CONFERENCE 25/05/2017
This year the theme is “Today’s Researcher: Mobility is Key”. In this context we intend that mobility refer to working in an institution in a different geographical location or, migrating to another research area within your discipline or, moving between sectors, for example, from academia to industry and vice versa. However speakers may wish to address another aspect altogether.
The conference is aimed at all research staff and we are hoping it will highlight the different aspects of career mobility in research. Here is a link to the other conferences organised for UCC's researchers namely Endurance in Research and Chance Favours the Prepared Mind
Ireland is an island nation and so international mobility has always been an important part of the research eco system here. Irish researchers collaborate with Universities and Industries in other countries and academia and industry rely on the knowledge and expertise brought into Ireland by researchers from abroad. This conference seeks to explore the many different forms of mobility in research and what are the benefits of pursuing a mobile career (in which ever form it takes) in research.
