Dr Aisling Farrell

Dr Aisling Farrell (MB BCh BAO, MRCPI, MICGP, MMSc Exercise Medicine, LMCA) is a Clinical Lecturer in the Department of General Practice at University College Cork and practising General Practitioner, with a special interest in Lifestyle Medicine and Dermatology.

Dr Farrell completed her medical degree at University College Dublin in 2015, followed by Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland in 2017 and Membership of the Irish College of General Practitioners in 2024. She holds a Master’s degree in Sports and Exercise Medicine from UCC and postgraduate qualifications in Lifestyle Medicine, Clinical Dermatology, Sports Nutrition, Contraception and Medical Education. She is commencing a PhD in Dermatology within the Department of General Practice at UCC.

Her research interests include Dermatology in primary care and Lifestyle Medicine, with a particular focus on nutrition and exercise prescription. She has presented at national and international meetings including the Irish Thoracic Society, the Academic General Practice Ireland (AGPI) and the Irish Society of Lifestyle Medicine. 

Within her academic role, Dr Farrell lectures and contributes to assessments across multiple programmes at UCC, including undergraduate medical students (Final Year and Third Year) and postgraduate nurse prescribers. She delivers lectures, small group tutorials and clinical skills teaching.

Dr Farrell is a member of the Educational Advisory Group of CervicalCheck and has contributed to regional guidelines including “The Limping Child” (E-Med, 2022). She is also a contributor to Prescription Revision. She is an active member of the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine, the Irish College of General Practitioners and the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.
