The Cork University Dental School and Hospital is located on the campus of Cork University Hospital, Wilton, Cork. There are frequent Bus Éireann services connecting to Cork city and surrounding areas, including West Cork Connect routes with frequent and direct services. The following buses serve the Cork University Hospital campus:

No. 201 - CUH – Lotabeg – Northern Orbital from Mayfield

No. 208 - via Mayfield (City Centre/Western Road/Wilton and Bishopstown)

No. 214 – Cork City /Tivoli/Glanmire enters the CUH campus and has stops at the CUH Emergency Department and the main entrance. This bus does not stop on Bishopstown Road.

No. 216 – Mount Oval/Monkstown - Southern Orbital from Mahon stops at the CUH Emergency Department.

No. 219 – Mahon/Bishopstown

The following bus routes stop at Bishopstown Avenue, which is a 5-minute walk to the Cork University Dental School and Hospital.

Directions from Cork City Centre to Cork University Hospital

  1. Where St. Patrick Street meets Grand Parade, take right turn at traffic lights on to Washington Street.
  2. From Washington Street continue on to the end of Western Road  and go straight through traffic lights.
  3. At next set of traffic lights (Victoria Cross) stay in left hand lane on to the Wilton Road (Crows Nest Student Accommodation on the right)
  4. Continue along Wilton Road for approx 1 mile till you reach the Wilton Road Roundabout.
  5. Take third exit at Wilton Roundabout.
  6. Proceed 50 metres to a set of traffic lights and get in far right hand lane (filter lane for Cork University Hospital)
  7. Turn right at traffic lights.

You have now reached Cork University Hospital where the Cork Dental School & Hospital is located.

Directions from Cork Airport to Cork University Hospital

  1. At exit of Cork Airport take first exit at roundabout.
  2. Follow road down hill for 2 miles until you come to a set of traffic lights.
  3. Turn left at traffic lights on to a slip road for the N28.
  4. Follow the N28 for 2 miles until you come to Sarsfield Roundabout.
  5. Take the third exit at Sarsfield Roundabout.
  6. Proceed for 400 metres to Wilton Roundabout (passing Wilton Shopping centre on your left).
  7. Take the first exit at Wilton Roundabout.
  8. Proceed 50 metres to a set of traffic lights and get in far right hand lane (filter lane for Cork University Hospital)
  9. Turn right at traffic lights.

You have now reached Cork University Hospital.

Directions from Dunkettle Roundabout to Cork University Hospital

  1. At Dunkettle Roundabout take exit for Lee Tunnel.
  2. Follow this same road for 5 miles until you come to Kinsale Roundabout.
  3. Take the second exit at the Kinsale Roundabout onto the N28.
  4. Follow the N28 for 2 miles until you come to Sarsfield Road Roundabout.
  5. Take the third exit at Sarsfield Road Roundabout.
  6. Proceed for 400 metres to Wilton Roundabout (passing Wilton Shopping centre on your left).
  7. Take the first exit at Wilton Roundabout.
  8. Proceed 50 metres to a set of traffic lights and get in far right hand lane (filter lane for Cork University Hospital).
  9. Turn right at traffic lights.

You have now reached Cork University Hospital.

Directions from Bandon to Cork University Hospital

  1. Follow N71 from Bandon to South Ring Road Roundabout.
  2. Take third exit at South Ring Road Roundabout on to the South Ring Road.
  3. Follow South Ring Road for 1 mile to Sarsfield Road Roundabout.
  4. Take first exit at Sarsfield Road Roundabout.
  5. Proceed for 400 metres to the Wilton Roundabout (passing Wilton Shopping centre on your left).
  6. Take the first exit at the Wilton Roundabout.
  7. Proceed 50 metres to a set of traffic lights and get in far right hand lane (filter lane for Cork University Hospital).
  8. Turn right at traffic lights.

You have now reached Cork University Hospital.

Parking Information - Limited Parking

There is limited parking available on the Cork University Hospital campus; patients are encouraged to use alternative means of transport to attend their appointments where possible such as using taxi/hackney or public transport. Please see the following link for information on Bus Éireann services that serve the Cork University Hospital campus.

There are three public car parks (all signposted) on the Cork University Hospital campus, one is located across from the main entrance to the main Cork University Hospital entrance, the second car park is located on the same site as the Mortuary (Please Note : this car park only accepts card payment on exit) and a third smaller car park with very limited parking availability located close to the Cork University Hospital Emergency department.

Limited accessible parking is available near the main entrance to the Cork University Hospital building, Cork University Hospital Emergency department, and the Cork University Dental School and Hospital entrance.

Drop-off access is available for those with limited mobility to the Cork University Dental School and Hospital. To access this Set Down facility where patients with mobility issues can be dropped off, you will need to use the buzzer at the barrier of the entrance.

Drivers can drop their patients (with the carer where necessary) and leave the car park to find parking elsewhere on the Cork University Hospital campus. However, it should be noted that they may not be guaranteed a space. Please note that Cork University Hospital security continuously monitors the flow of traffic through the campus.

EU disabled person’s parking permit/card

Car parking for holders of this card is available in front of the main door to the Dental Hospital. There are two spaces reserved here and they may be accessed by approaching the entrance barrier in front of the Dental Hospital and pressing the button on the intercom system. The operator will then raise the barrier.

There is also a car park for disabled drivers at the side of the Dental School & Hospital near the main entrance to the main Cork University Hospital building. Drivers parking here can access the Dental School & Hospital by using the ramp at the side of the building.
