Cork University Business School - CUBS
UCC were successful in their 2019 application to the Higher Education Strategic Infrastructure Fund (HESIF) for €25 million to develop the Cork University Business School in the heart of Cork City. The CUBS development will be located in the centre of Cork City between Copley Street and South Terrace at the former Brooks Haughton timber yard site. The move to the centre of Cork City will position CUBS at the heart of the business district, enhancing the social and economic fabric of the city and region.
The new CUBS building will be at the centre of UCC’s commitment to delivering a world class experience to our students, faculty, and business. It will enable CUBS to further develop its recognised strengths, through the expansion of its undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive education offerings which will offer the most cutting-edge technology required for business education. It is expected that the new building will provide circa 16,000m² of space and will accommodate 4500 students and 225 staff.
An RKD led design team was appointed in early 2022. Planning permission was sought in December 2022. Planning permission is expected to be granted in May 2023.
