UCC purchased the seminary accommodation blocks (North & East) from the order of Vincentians in 1999 and applied for a change of use to Academic/Administrative use to facilitate the transfer of the Department of Music, UCC from its base (The Rectory) on the Western Road.

The works involved the refurbishment of three floors over a basement including music rooms, teaching rooms, practice rooms, administration areas etc. together with the provision of a large teaching room/recital room in the basement area (O'Riada Hall).

Update

The project commenced in late August '99 and was completed in February 2000 at a cost in the order of £930,000.
