Research at the School of Computer Science and Information Technology

The School of Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT) conducts internationally leading research, with a strong emphasis on applied research for the benefit of society, the ICT industry and the wider economy. Our research programme is structured into four themes: Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics and Algorithmics; Networks, Computer Architectures and Software Systems; Interactive Media and Human Computer Interaction; and Security, Privacy and Ethics. CSIT staff have leadership roles in four of the national Science Foundation Ireland research centres in ICT, and in two of the interdisciplinary SFI Spoke awards. We maintain active collaborations with a wide range of Irish and international industrial researchers and academics. The school has a large and active postgraduate research student community. More details on our research activities can be found below.
