Lights! Camera! Youth Climate Action! Introducing our new film about the Youth Climate Justice project.

The Youth Climate Justice project presents its introductory film, co-created with our Young Advisors. You can watch the full film here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7ebllLw5xg
Children and youth across the world are leading the way is showing how art, creativity and storytelling can help us to raise awareness of their climate crisis, their rights, and the individual and collective actions we can take.
This is important for us researchers in the Youth Climate Justice project. We want to make sure we can share what we are setting out to explore, and what we find out with children, youth and adults across the world. By communicating our project story as it develops, we hope to share what youth climate action means for children's rights, and how justice systems can be made more child friendly, to accommodate youth climate action.
Our 12 Young Advisors worked together with our Child and Youth Participation Advisor, Katie Reid, filmmaker Garvan Doherty, and PI Aoife Daly to create a short film to tell the beginning of this story. Our film explains what the Youth Climate Justice research project is and why it matters, what questions we are exploring in our research, and the different ways we will be researching with children, youth and adults.
We can’t wait to hear what you think – and to embark on this journey with you.
Special thank you to Garvan Doherty (gotogarvan.com) for bringing the Young Advisors’ ideas and visuals to life.
