At the final session of the Grand Challenges in Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences module, students were presented with the breadth of Plant Science research project currently active in the School of BEES.
A flash-talks session from BEES Plant Science research teams closes the BL1009 module. The event was structured as a speed-dating poster session, in which groups of students moved around the room to meet 7 research groups active in the field of Plant Science.
The ResilientCrop team introduced the students to the environmental and food security challenges the project aims to tackle, by applying molecular biology techniques to the study of forage crops' response to projected Climate Change.
The event aims to inform students about the possibilites and variety in plant science research, and to inspire them to pursue a degree in Applied Plant Biology.
