Playing multilingually / Multilingual Play
L'événement porte sur le multilinguisme dans le théâtre ainsi qu'au sein des institutions théâtrales, en accordant une attention particulière à son intégration dans les politiques institutionnelles du secteur des arts de la scène.
The event focuses on multilingualism in theatre and within theatre institutions, with particular attention paid to its integration into institutional policies within the performing arts sector.
La question de savoir comment rendre le théâtre plus multilingue sera au cœur de cet événement. Les échanges avec les médiateur·rices permettront d'y intégrer une perspective complémentaire, en parallèle des réflexions sur la mise en scène et sur la traduction des œuvres théâtrales.
The question of how to make theatre more multilingual will be at the heart of this event. Discussions with the facilitators will bring a complementary perspective to the event, alongside reflections on staging and the translation of theatrical works.
Cette journée d'étude s'inscrit dans un projet de recherche européen financé par l'association COST : MultiLiLiTrans - Literary multilingualism and social transformations in superdiverse societies (MultiLiLiTrans). Ce projet a pour objectif principal d'intégrer le multilinguisme au cœur des pratiques contemporaines en adoptant une perspective à la fois littéraire, multilingue et traductive. Il s'intéresse particulièrement aux pratiques textuelles et artistiques qui mettent en jeu plusieurs langues et processus de traduction, en examinant leurs formes, leurs dynamiques et leurs enjeux esthétiques, culturels et sociaux.
This study day forms part of a European research project funded by the COST association: MultiLiLiTrans – Literary multilingualism and social transformations in superdiverse societies (MultiLiLiTrans). The main objective of this project is to place multilingualism at the heart of contemporary practices by adopting a perspective that is at once literary, multilingual and translation-oriented. It focuses in particular on textual and artistic practices that involve multiple languages and translation processes, examining their forms, dynamics and aesthetic, cultural and social implications.
Dans cette optique, le projet vise à développer une approche innovante en favorisant le dialogue entre différents champs disciplinaires. Il s'inscrit à l'intersection des études littéraires, comparatistes et traductologiques, ainsi que des études cinématographiques et théâtrales, afin de mieux comprendre les interactions entre création, langue et traduction.
With this in mind, the project aims to develop an innovative approach by fostering dialogue between different academic disciplines. It lies at the intersection of literary studies, comparative literature and translation studies, as well as film and theatre studies, with a view to gaining a better understanding of the interactions between creative expression, language and translation.
Ces rencontres viseront également à renforcer un réseau de recherche et d'observation de terrain, réunissant les représentant·s des projets européens COST MultiLiLiTrans et GRACE (Greater Region Artistic and Cultural Education : 25 opérateurs culturels, gouvernements locaux et universités forment un réseau transdisciplinaire et transfrontalier, engagé dans un plan d'actions communes pour généraliser l'éducation artistique à tous les habitants de la Grande Région), le CIRTI de l'Université de Liège ainsi que le Théâtre de Liège, partenaire de ces projets.
These meetings will also aim to strengthen a research and field observation network, bringing together representatives from the European COST MultiLiLiTrans and GRACE projects (Greater Region Artistic and Cultural Education: 25 cultural organisations, local authorities and universities form a transdisciplinary and cross-border network, committed to a joint action plan to make arts education accessible to all residents of the Greater Region), the CIRTI at the University of Liège, and the Théâtre de Liège, a partner in these projects.
