Free family fun day to celebrate Europe Day!

23 Apr 2023

Ireland has been a member of the European Union for 50 years. Many events are organised to celebrate this milestone. We wanted to do something a little more different, more festive and inclusive of the entire civil society, including our youngest members.

On 7 May, in Cork City Hall, from 1pm to 5pm, we will have an afternoon of fun with many child friendly activities, others more focused on teenagers and parents as well. You can download the full list of activities as well as the lay out of the Cork City Concert Hall and Millenium Hall for the day just here: Final info brochure EDF

There will be seven primary schools performing amazing songs on key European values at the heart of Irish society as well as a secondary school blowing your socks off! Our Master of Ceremony, Dr Aodh Quinlivan, will orchestrate the whole day to make sure you have a great time.

There will also be an EU-themed treasure hunt for 27 teams of 4 (2 aged 12 and under and 2 aged 13 and over, including one over 18) solving 27 clues across the City of Cork. The winning team will leave with a weekend away to a European city, fligths and accommodation sponsored by Cork airport and Cork City Council. If you're interested in taking part, register here before 28 April by 5pm.
