UCC held their policy evaluation workshop this week

As part of Work Package 3, colleagues in Poland, the Netherlands and Ireland have been conducting policy evaluation workshops with expert panels.

In Ireland, the workshop was held on 27th January. The panel of six experts included academics and practitioners in areas like health, nutrition, sustainable food production, and food waste and redistribution, convened to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of existing city-level food policy, especially with regard to its impact on equity. The workshop focused on identifying key actions that could be taken at the local level, but also included a rich and wide-ranging discussion of actions that could be taken by researchers, communities, and others to enhance food environments. This workshop will be followed by an online survey asking experts to rank the suggested actions according to their importance, achievability, and likely impact on equity.
