Teagasc hosts Duck-Feed team
The Duck-Feed team met yesterday at the Teagasc campus at Ashtown, Dublin. Hosted by Prof. Brijesh Tiwari, for many of the team this was the first time they got to meet in person.
The Duck-Feed team discussed progress of the project so far, including designs of duckweed growth systems, waste streams for duckweed growth, and protein extraction technology, as well as the future plans for the project. It was a very pleasant meeting with fruitful discussions, and we look forward to working together for the next few years to make the project a great success.
The Duck-Feed project is a collaborative research project between University College Cork, Teagasc, Technological University Dublin and Devenish Nutrition Ltd. It is funded by a research grant from the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.
