Cork Smart Gateway and The VQ Launch the First Edition of the Monthly VQ Mobility Report.
The insights in the mobility report are generated using the data from the recently deployed Telraam S2 sensors on MacCurtain Street.
The data gives us a detailed insight into the activity of the area which can be used to plan future and validate existing initiatives. The data will be used to produce monthly activity reports for the area over a 12-month period allowing for a detailed understanding of how the area develops over time. The data gives a detailed breakdown of the number of pedestrians, cars, heavy goods vehicles and cyclists are using the street on a daily basis. The data also shows the peak times at which the street is being used.
Going forward, the ambition is to include air quality data and passenger number data from Kent Station in the monthly report to give an even broader insight into the development and vibrancy of the MacCurtain Street & Penrose Dock area.
If any groups would like to join the project and contribute data please contact the Cork Smart Gateway (Info@corksmartgateway.ie) or Shane Clarke of the VQ (shane@thevq.ie)
