Mary Anning: Her Life and Times

Mary Anning (1799 -1847) lived her entire life in Lyme Regis, and, despite having no formal scientific education, she made major contributions to palaeontology (and in doing so, assisted other branches of geology) in the first half of the 19th Century. Ed Jarvis is a geologist and lecturer at University College Cork. He has taken a particular interest in the important contribution of Mary Anning to Geoscience as well as to the geology of the area around Lyme Regis. All are welcome.
