About CERCA

CERCA is the institution of the Catalan Government responsible of the coordination of 42 research centres, its evaluation, overall promotion and the creation and follow-up of strategic programs. CERCA centres employ approx. 10.000 people. About 150 spin-off companies have been created from CERCA in the last years. CERCA R&D Centres are internationally recognised independent centres of excellence, periodically assessed with the mission to achieve the highest level of scientific and technological excellence in their respective disciplines and generate social and economic impact.
