The Student Health Department is not a GP service. We are unable to visit you in your home and do not provide services outside our office-opening hours. If you believe you need to be seen urgently, or at a time when Student Health is unavailable, contact your GP service, or out of hours service in your locality for advice and care.
If you are not registered with a GP or cannnot contact your out of hours service call our number on (021) 4902311 for further details.

Accident and Emergency
Accident and Emergency services are available in the local hospitals, CUH and MUH. These services are intended for accidents and emergencies only.
There is a charge for those who attend the Accident & Emergency Departments in General Hospitals
Atendance at Emergency Departments is free to medical card holders, those with a referral letter from their doctor, those with E111, E109, E128, European Health Cards and to all UK students.
Minor Injuries Unit.
There is a minor injuries unit at:
The Mercy Injury Unit (Urgent Care Centre), Gurranabraher, Cork, T23 YV52. There is a charge for those who attend.
What do I do if I don't have a GP or there are no Student Health Appointments?

There are a range of options open to students when you are unable to, or would prefer not to obtain an appointment with us, and you do not have access to a/your GP service
There are private fee-charging primary care services in the Cork City and surrounding region.
