Answer

How can I become a member of a society? You can sign up to a society using the UCC Clubs and Societies Portal https://candsportal.ucc.ie/ . We also hold recruitment events in September (Fresher's Fest, Societies Day, Clubs and Societies Day) and again in January (Societies Day 2). Here you can meet with societies, ask any questions you may have and hear about their upcoming events!
How do I become a Committee member? At the beginning of every year, societies will hold and AGM (Annual General Meeting) where new and existing society members can run for positions on the societies committee. You can keep an eye on their social media accounts for more info or you can email them directly. Find all society email addresses here https://www.ucc.ie/en/societies/allsocieties/
How do I start up a new society? You must fill out the New Societies Application Pack – there are five files that need to be completed in this pack. Files can be found for these at New Society Application | University College Cork (ucc.ie) . These include ; Overall Application Form, Founding Members Details, Sample Society Constitution and a Cover Letter explaining purpose of new society and indicating the lack of society type on campus currently.
