Dr Regan became the Skills Centre Coordinator following her four years as a Postgraduate Tutor in the centre. Having completed her undergraduate degree in BA English and History in 2012, Éadaoin took a break from studies to work in a business outsourcing centre before undertaking a Team Lead position. In 2015, Éadaoin returned to studies and completed an MA in English Literature at Ulster University Coleraine. Returning to UCC, Éadaoin began her PhD in the School of English and Digital Humanities in 2017 while working as a Postgraduate Tutor in the School. Two years later, Éadaoin was delighted to become a part of the Skills Centre team.
Following her PhD graduation in June 2023, Éadaoin stepped into the interim position of Skills Centre Coordinator. Having experienced the successes and challenges students face from undergraduate to postgraduate degrees and due to her many years as a tutor, Éadaoin is mindful of the potential in every student and the difference a friendly face of a fellow student can make when guiding them toward success. Our Skills Centre tutors are all undergraduate and postgraduate students, therefore encompassing the peer to peer ethos of Skills Centre supports.
Tadhg Dennehy - Interim Skills Centre Coordinator

Tadhg has worked in the Skills Centre as a Postgraduate Tutor since 2021 and is also a PhD Researcher in Film Studies. From September 2023, Éadaoin was delighted to have Tadhg step in to assist the core office team with administrative duties such as scheduling, tutor cover, and new workshop creation, in addition to his role as tutor. Tadgh has been selected to cover Éadaoin’s leave for the 2025/26 academic year.
Dr Luke Watson - Executive Assistant
Luke worked as a postgraduate tutor at the Skills Centre throughout the time of his PhD in History. Having graduated with her PhD in 2025, Luke was welcomed aboard as the Skills Centre Executive Assistant. You'll usually find Luke at the front desk, greeting students and sending emails - very much keeping the ship afloat! Luke has been with the Skills Centre since 2019 and enjoys helping students overcome the challenges of academic writing and academic argument.
Dr Loretta Goff - Academic Integrity Education Officer

Loretta is UCC’s Academic Integrity Education Officer, based in the Skills Centre. She creates, manages, and delivers training and resources on academic integrity and academic misconduct for both students and staff at UCC, fostering a culture of academic integrity across the University.
Prior to this, Loretta was also a Skills Centre Tutor while completing her PhD in Film and Screen Media. She encourages students to make use of the Skills Centre as all the sessions and resources available will help you develop your academic skills and put your best work forward.

Derek O'Meara - Senior Executive Assistant, ACCESS Skills Centre
Derek has worked in UCC since 2018 and has held various roles across the university. Derek’s varied background and his broad administration experience makes him a huge asset to our ACCESS Skills Centre, a solo position which requires the facilitation of subject specific tuition requests for students registered with our colleagues in ACCESS.
Gabrielle Dufrene - Skills Centre Postgraduate Tutor
Gabrielle Dufrene is a second-year PhD student in the School of English and Digital Humanities, studying contemporary Irish women writers and trauma. Originally from the American South, she has a BA in English and an MA in Creative Writing from UCC. In her spare time, she likes to read and write (fiction and poetry) and travel!
Siria Manini - Skills Centre Postgraduate Tutor
Siria is a PhD student in the College of Arts, Celtic Studies, and Social Sciences. Her main interests are reading, writing, going to the gym and the cinema, and art crafting. With a background as a private tutor and activity leader in an English Summer camp she decided to become a Peer Support Leader, an undergraduate tutor and now a postgraduate tutor in the Skills Centre. Siria strives to help students who are finding it hard to settle into college!
Kelly Buckley - Skills Centre Postgraduate Tutor
Kelly is a PhD student of Applied Psychology who is passionate about lifelong learning. As a mature student she is a keen advocate of equal opportunity and access for all people on their journeys into and through education. Kelly looks forward to welcoming and working with students who visit the skills centre. Outside of her student and skills centre role Kelly teaches Yoga and is passionate about mental health and wellbeing.
Amanda Sithole - Skills Centre Postgraduate Tutor
Amanda, an international student, earned her master’s degree in MSc Cooperatives, Agri-food and Sustainable Development at UCC. She is currently pursuing a PhD. Amanda is thrilled to be part of the Skills Centre team and is eager to embark on a journey of growth and learning as she progresses along her career path.
Ioannis Kaprosioutis - Skills Centre Postgraduate Tutor
Ioannis Kaprosioutis is a PhD student with the School of English and Digital Humanities. His research focus is primarily based on a post-structuralist approach to the grotesque and carnivalesque image in short stories.
Jordan Carolan - Skills Centre Postgraduate Tutor
Jordan is a PhD student in Applied Linguistics and is the recipient of the CACSSS PhD Excellence Scholarship. When he is not working at the UCC Skills Centre, he is assisting incoming students on UCC's CampusConnect platform and answering general questions. He is excited to start working at the Skills Centre because he truly believes that the Skills Centre is an invaluable service that improves the student experience and addresses so many common concerns that students have.
Shelley Etkin - Skills Centre Postgraduate Tutor
Shelley Etkin is a PhD researcher and tutor in the department of Sociology. Her focus is on 'herbologies of repair' an ethnobotanical perspective on medicinal plants as allies for transformative justice in Palestine and Israel. She is passionate about pedagogy and education that is accessible for all, uplifting diverse forms of intelligences and knowledges. She is very glad to join as a new tutor with the Skills Centre team, and works also with Access Skills Centre.
Beth Aherne - Skills Centre Postgraduate Tutor
Beth is a postgraduate tutor with the Skills Centre and a year PhD student in the English Department. Beth completed her BA in English and Sociology and her MA in English Modernities here at UCC. Beth hopes to facilitate a more equitable learning experience at UCC by helping students as they navigate higher education.
Hanke Kelber - Skills Centre Postgraduate Tutor
Hanke is a PhD Student with the School of English and Digital Humanities. Her research focuses on post-apocalyptic research and ecocriticism. She is also a tutor and seminar leader for the Department of English and particularly enjoys helping students with their essay writing skills.
Rehab Hassan Ahmed Elhiny - Skills Centre Postgraduate Tutor
Rehab is a PhD student in the School of Pharmacy. Her research is focused on cardiovascular diseases risk control. She holds a master’s degree in clinical pharmacy. Previously, Rehab worked as a teaching assistant in the School of Pharmacy, Minia University, where she developed skills in mentoring and supporting students. Being an international student, she understands the challenges of adapting to a new environment and is here to help others navigate this transition.
David Moynihan - Skills Centre Postgraduate Tutor
David is a postgraduate tutor with the Skills Centre. He is currently doing a PhD in Education and specialises in the area of autism. He works closely with the Access Office and often assists with exam accommodations (such as scribing). David is a firm believer in inclusive education and helping students to reach their educational goals. He also has a strong interest in creative writing and loves to compose songs and write poetry.
Claire Minehane - Skills Centre Postgraduate Tutor
Claire is a postgraduate tutor with the skills centre. Claire is a Masters student with the School of History. Claire completed her BA History Degree at University College Cork in 2023. Having completed the Certificate of Arts (History) in 2019 with ACE she understands the challenges of returning to education after a break in her studies. Claire has experience of primary teaching in England and is an advocate of lifelong teaching and learning.
Kinza Salim - Skills Centre Postgraduate Tutor
Kinza is an international student, who holds a Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery and successfully completed her postgraduate residency in Otorhinolaryngology. Currently, Kinza is pursuing her PhD, focusing on the integration of Artificial Intelligence in medical education. With a passion for innovation in teaching, she is excited to join the Skills Centre team and aims to simplify complex concepts through dynamic and interactive teaching methodology by empowering students to grasp challenging material with ease.
Chara Charalambous - Skills Centre Postgraduate Tutor
Chara is a PhD candidate in Ethnomusicology who is conducting crucial research on the sociocultural impact of carnival music from Cyprus. Her research is centred on the Limassol Carnival Serenades, where she meticulously analyses its influence on the local traditional music scene to ensure cultural sustainability.
Franziska Schulmann - Skills Centre Postgraduate Tutor
Franziska is a PhD scholar at the School of Law and Programme Coordinator for the Diploma in Psychology of Criminal Behaviour within the Adult Continuing Education Department at University College Cork. Her doctoral research examines the intersections of law, criminology, and the social sciences, with a particular focus on intimate partner violence among adolescents and young adults in Ireland.
