The School of Pharmacy is delighted to acknowledge the achievements of four first year students, who are recipients of the prestigious All Ireland Scholarship.

Awards are made on the basis of the excellent Leaving Certificate results they achieved in 2023. Níamh Conroy (Scoil Chríost Rí, Portlaoise, Co. Laois), Ellen Connolly (St. Louis Secondary School, Carrickmackross, Co. Monaghan), Rachel Desmond (St. Colman’s Community College, Midleton, Co. Cork) and Grace Quirke (Coláiste Íde agus Iosef, Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick) are amongst 125 recipients across the island of Ireland to be awarded one of the scholarships and were recently honoured at an awards ceremony held in UL.

The All-Ireland scholarships were established in 2008 by the J.P. McManus Trust to financially support gifted young students across the island of Ireland to enable them to participate fully in all aspects of university life. They cover the full duration of the students’ undergraduate studies, including all aspects of their academic financial support. Speaking at what was the 16th year of the awards, Mr McManus said that “it’s brilliant to see the Leaving Certificate class of 2023 rewarded for their hard work and dedication to their studies”.
