Three students of the Department of Modern Irish were presented with Fulbright Awards at a ceremony in Dublin recently.

Three lecturers from the Department of Modern Irish spent time teaching in other countries this spring under the Erasmus Plus scheme.

A conference celebrating one hundred years of The Hidden Ireland by Daniel Corkey (1924-2024). Held in The Imperial Hotel, Cork City on the 20th of April 2024. 

A stage adaptation of Caoineadh Airt Uí Laoghaire was performed in An Seomra Caidrimh recently. This adaptation was made by Áine Uí Chuill who also played the part of Eibhlín Dubh Ní Chonaill, with musical accompaniment on the tin whistle by Gormfhlaith Ní Shíocháin Ní Bheoláin. 

The Department of Modern Irish, University College Cork invites you to the international conference on Irish lexicography and phraseology in Irish, which will take place on 24-25 November 2023.

The conference Guthanna na mBan was held on 8 March, International Women’s Day, this year.

Ten first-year students of the B.Ed.Gaeilge were awarded scholarships from An Chomhairle um Oideachas Gaeltachta agus Gaelscolaíochta (COGG) at a ceremony in UCC recently.
