Membership - Free to All

The LISTSERV Service that has previously been used to host the LGBT+ Staff Network Mailing List and the Rainbow Alliance Mailing List is being retired. Going forward, we will have two options for people to receive communications from the LGBT+ Staff Network:

1. New LGBT+ Staff Network Email Mailing List hosted by HEANet
2. New LGBT+ Staff Network and Rainbow Allies Microsoft Teams Group

The new Email Mailing List will allow staff to subscribe to receive information about events and resources promoted by the LGBT+ Staff Network to their email inbox. Members will also be able to send messages and respond to messages sent to the mailing list which will be delivered to all members of the mailing list.

HEAnet is Ireland’s National Research and Education Network. They deliver high-speed internet connectivity and ICT shared services to all levels of the Irish education sector. You can find out more about their Listserv service, including their privacy statement, on the HEAnet website.

The new Microsoft Teams Group will allow staff to subscribe to receive information about events and resources promoted by the LGBT+ Staff Network via Microsoft Teams. This space will also allow for discussion and contributions from all members of the Staff Network as well as the Rainbow Alliance allies.

In order to continue to receive communications from the LGBT+ Staff Network, please complete the following form and indicate your communications preferences: LGBT+ Staff Network Communications Form.

Important: The information submitted to this form will be accessible only to the LGBT+ Staff Network committee members involved in setting up the new mailing list and Teams group. This data will then be used to add you to the space(s) you wish to subscribe to. Only LGBT+ Staff Network committee members and some IT Services staff will have access to see members of the HEAnet Listserv. Please be advised that all members of the Microsoft Teams group will be able to see the full list of members of the Teams group. You may be removed from either platform at any time by contacting LGBTnetwork@ucc.ie

Support the network with a financial subscription

While membership to the network is free, we would also like to encourage members to support the network with a financial subscription (through a monthly payroll deduction). A number of our members already contribute, and this financial contribution helps the network to fund the planning and running of various events throughout the year.

To support the network with a financial subscription please download, complete, print and sign the UCC LGBT+ Staff Network Financial Subscription Form, and then send the form by UCC Internal Mail to:

By supporting the network with a financial subscription, you will also be automatically added as a member to our membership mailing list if you are not already a member. 

Only the Co-Chairs, Finance Officer of the network and members of UCC Payroll staff will have access to this data (Name, Email Address, Department, Staff Number, Amount of Contribution (suggested subscription of €2.50) for the purposes of administering the payroll deduction. The paper form will be securely stored by the payroll office in line with their data storage procedures. 

If you were not already a member of the UCC LGBT Staff Network, the co-chairs and / or finance officer may also share your name and email address with other members of the committee for the purposes of adding you to the network membership mailing list.

*Please note that the monthly contribution is not a requirement for joining the network. 

We also encourage our members to join the Staff Sports and Social Club, an invaluable social outlet for university staff. The Staff Sports and Social Club have been a great support to the LGBT Staff Network over the years.
