Mandatory Elements Of An Accessibility Statement

Under the 2020 Regulations, the Accessibility Statement for a website or mobile app must have:

A FACTS model for accessibility statements was developed by experts in the field and has been utilised in the development of these templates. You should consider these factors when adapting the templates to your own systems and content.

How Accessible This Website Is

Outline measures that have been put in place to ensure your platforms are accessible and how these can be utilised. Such as:

  • Magnification
  • Keyboard navigation
  • Alt-text
  • Transcripts and captioning
  • Common sense language

Provide contact information and a clearly outlined processes whereby users can highlight issues they have encountered or request additional supports
