Talk by recent UCC graduates in French

The 2026 Society for Francophone Postcolonial Studies Annual Postgraduate Study Day will be hosted at UCC on Friday 12^th June 2026, in the CACSSS Seminar Room (ORB G27). The Call for Papers is open for Undergraduate and Postgraduate students, and Early Career Researchers.

This is the third of our series of School of Languages, Literatures and Culture’s Research Ireland Postdoctoral talks. The talk will be in English, and it will be hybrid - in UCC's O Rahilly Building room 1:24 and via Teams. All are very welcome to attend.

Organized by the ‘Rethinking Spatial Humanities Cluster’ of the Centre for Advanced Studies in Languages and Cultures, University College Cork.

Applications are invited from students who will commence a Taught Masters programme in the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultures in autumn 2025.

This seminar provides the first in-depth analysis of the nightcap in French cultural productions and reveals its importance in navigating literary and iconographic representations of the middle classes and King Louis-Philippe during the July Monarchy.

Benjamin Boutin, author of A la découverte de la Francophonie, 2024 will speak to UCC students and staff.
