Biography:

Christina is a senior post-doctoral researcher on the INHALE project funded by the Environmental Protection Agency Ireland. Her research is looking at data linkage methodology of available air quality data and health outcomes in Ireland.

Prior to this, Christina worked as a data manger and statistical epidemiologist/post-doctoral researcher with the National Suicide Research Foundation Ireland. Christina managed and quality assured self-harm data from all emergency departments in Ireland for the National Self-harm Registry Ireland. She was responsible for the extraction, identification and amalgamation of publically available health, population and environmental data from open data sources such as CSO, Health Atlas and Met Éireann. Christina co-ordinated the collection, recording, analysis and reporting of information on HSE suicide and self-harm training programmes.

Christina is a UCC graduate with a PhD in Medicine and Health from the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health. Her PhD thesis was titled ‘Exploring the relationship between patterns of physical activity and sedentary behaviour and cardiometabolic markers in middle aged-adults’. The overarching aims of her PhD were to investigate patterns of physical behaviour throughout the day and week and explore associations between these patterns and cardiometabolic health. Christina also has a Master’s in Public Health and BSC in Public Health and Health Promotion from the School of Public Health.
