In Italy, Crime fiction had a relatively slow and late start but from the nineties has been enjoying unprecedented fortune. The popularity of this phenomenon has radically transformed the field of Italian culture. Marco’s talk explores Italian crime fiction looking into its origins and providing an overview of its recent developments, focusing in particular on how Italian writers have used crime stories to mirror society.
