College Inaugural Professorial Lecture Series Continues into Spring 2024
The College of Business and Law Inaugural Professorial Lecture Series 2023/24 continues into the second semester with Professor Aoife Daly of the School of Law scheduled to deliver on 13 March 2024 her inaugural lecture 'What child/youth climate action means for human right law".
Professor Daly as Principal Investigator leads the Youth Climate Justice Project, which is supported by a consolidator grant from the European Research Council. The Project seeks to reexamine childrens rights through the work of children/youth in the climate crisis.
Scheduled for 17 April 2024 is the inaugural lecture from Professor Michelle Carr, who is Professor in Accounting (Sustainable Business) in the Department of Acccounting and Finance CUBS, followed on 5 May by an inuagural lecture from Professor Stewart Smyth, also of the Department of Accounting and Finance.
The series was successfully launched on 12 October 2023 with a inaugural lecture entitled "Sustainablility for Teaching and Research: Past Experiences and Future Perspectives" delivered by Professor Valeria Andreoni, AIB Professor in Sustainable Business , CUBS.
Professor Femi Amao, Professor of Company Law and Sustainability in the School of Law, continued the series on 24 January 2024 delivering his inaugural lecture: "Decolonising the 'corporation' narrative in Africa in the age of Sustainability".
