One of Ireland's most important medieval manuscripts, the Annals of Inisfallen, is now on public display in the Glucksman Gallery, UCC as part of a major new exhibition, Recording the Past: The Annals of Inisfallen and the Making of Irish History. The free exhibition runs until 1 November 2026.

Alumni Spotlight: Cormac McGarry, Maritime Security & Intelligence Expert
Cormac McGarry has built a career around understanding risk in some of the world’s most challenging maritime environments, with experience ranging from advising vessels navigating high-risk waters to serving as an expert witness in vessel-loss arbitrations involving the war in Ukraine, piracy in Nigeria and cocaine smuggling in the Americas. He has also carried out on-the-ground intelligence gathering in places like Dos Bocas and Ciudad del Carmen, Mexico, to improve and inform maritime security services for clients operating in the Bay of Campeche.

Research Spotlight: First Map Pinpoints Coastal Erosion Hot Spots in Ireland
UCC researchers have developed Ireland’s first national Coastal Exposure Index, pinpointing where communities, cultural heritage and other coastal assets face the greatest exposure.
