Research Support Officer (Administration) Insight Centre for Data Analytics and SFI CRT-AI

1 Year, Fixed-Term, Whole-time Post

Position Summary

Applications are invited for the post of Research Support Officer (Administration)

The Research Support Officer (Administration) will hold a key position helping to overseeing operations in two significant SFI Centres: The Insight Centre for Data Analytics and the SFI Centre for Research Training in Artificial Intelligence the latter managed by Research Co-ordinator/Programme Manager, Janet Choi. In this capacity, the individual will play a crucial role in the administrative support of both centres. Responsibilities include actively participating in financial oversight, ensuring accurate financial reporting to both entities. Executive Assistants with relevant experience are welcome to apply.

Additionally, the role necessitates involvement in procurement activities, securing products, and supporting services essential for the seamless functioning of the PhD researchers' program and Investigator Cohorts. The incumbent will contribute to PhD recruitment, onboarding processes, and in-house support for student development and training, always ensuring strict adherence to UCC and SFI terms and conditions, along with related policies.

Given the national reach of both SFI Centres, with students and investigators dispersed across various third-level institutions in Ireland, the position entails collaboration with administrators, PhD researchers, and academics from other universities. This collaborative effort aims to facilitate UCC and Funding agency metric reporting obligations for both Centres, requiring meticulous data collection and input for reporting purposes.

Moreover, the role extends to providing research administration support to Professor Barry O’Sullivan, involving the management of his Centre Directorship and leadership duties at local, national, and international levels. Within The Insight Centre, a specific focus will be placed on monitoring and reporting metrics, both locally and to the Central Operations Team. The position thus involves a multifaceted engagement with diverse administrative, financial, and collaborative responsibilities across various levels of operation.
