Creativity flourishing

6 Feb 2021

Some good news from two of our graduates: Siobhán Ní Dhomhnaill (BCL Law and Irish 2018, MA in Irish and European Law 2019) and Antóin Ó Dúlaing (BA 2018, MA in Modern Irish 2019)

Some good news from two of our graduates: Siobhán Ní Dhomhnaill (BCL Law and Irish 2018, MA in Irish and European Law 2019) recently published her first collection of poetry Ait agus Iontach Bheith Beo (Coiscéim 2021). This work was awarded a major prize at Listowel Writers’ Week and Siobhán was invited to read at the Ó Bhéal Winter Warmer festival before Christmas.

Antóin Ó Dúlaing (BA 2018, MA in Modern Irish 2019) spent a year teaching Irish in Slovakia and is now working as a writer and production assistant at Ros na Rún. He’s clearly enjoying the job as he said recently “I had no TV experience before this, but thanks to the MA in Modern Irish, I managed to get this position. I really like that I can develop my own writing daily as part of the job.”

Both Siobhán and Antóin took the module GA6035 Creative Writing with Dr Ailbhe Ní Ghearbhuigh. It’s wonderful to see their development as writers and we wish them every success in the future!
