IGNITE alum Clare Meskill, CEO & co-founder of speech therapy technology company Teleatherapy, has raised €700k in pre-seed funding from private investors and Enterprise Ireland.

Teleatherapy, a platform that offers speech therapy technology to people living with Parkinson’s disease, announced recently that co-founders Clare Meskill & Dave Calnan have successfully raised €700k in pre-seed funding from private investors and Enterprise Ireland.

Parkinson’s disease is the fastest-growing neurodegenerative disease worldwide and 90% of patients experience difficulty with their speech. There are approximately 12,000 people living with the condition in Ireland.

Voice is a huge part of our identity,” said Ms Meskill. “Our technology enables speech and language therapists to support their clients with Parkinson's disease remotely and improve outcomes between therapy sessions.”

The platform provides speech therapy exercises which speech/language therapists can prescribe for patients, that can be completed which can be completed on an app on your smartphone device in the comfort of your own home. Therapists can monitor the patient’s progress & results within the app, providing an element of convenience in reducing wait times.

Clare, CEO of Teleatherapy & a speech and language therapist, founded the app-based service in November 2020, with chief technical officer Dave Calnan joining in as co-founder in 2022 to lead the technical development.
