Training Needs Analysis

A Training Needs Analysis provides information on the training and skills development requirements you will need to progress to whatever career you choose.  It is one of the key steps in preparing a professional development plan and will provide you with information on which to base your training needs for your time here in UCC. It will enable you to:

  • Identify the gap between current and required levels of knowledge, skills and aptitude                                     Training Needs Analysis
  • Identify what the general content of training should be
  • Form the foundation of a professional development plan
  • Provide a baseline for the evaluation of a professional development plan
  • Ensure that appropriate and relevant professional training is delivered

 

As a Postdoctural researcher it may be helpful to think of professional training in terms of:

  2. Personal Effectiveness and Career Development
  3. Teaching and Learning
  4. Innovation, Commercial and Industry Skills
