Io Capitano Opens the N.I.C.E Italian Film Festival at the Arc

Cork’s third instalment of N.I.C.E. Italian Film Festival opened to an emotive jolt with Matteo Garrone’s Io Capitano.

Garrone’s previous work includes the critically acclaimed Gomorrah in 2008 and the successful Pinocchio from 2019. This film represents a different direction for the filmmaker; it is not set in Italy – as most of his films are – and there is next to no Italian to be heard in the dialogue.
