Students Showcase Innovative Projects in Global Citizenship and Development Education
The School of Education witnessed an impressive display of student-led initiatives as part of the course UW0012 in Global Citizenship and Development Education. This course, open to students from all disciplines and academic levels, is now in its sixth year and as always, is very popular with students
We were impressed with students’ dedication to their projects and the group presentations at the end of the course on the evening of 16th April. This is despite the fact that the UW course is not part of their degree programmes. The course highlights the School’s commitment to fostering global awareness and social responsibility among its students.
Students participated in projects across six critical areas: Women's Empowerment, Action for Palestine, Green Campus Initiatives, Combating the Far-Right, and Anti-Racism efforts which form part of the wider research project called "The Elephant in the Room." These projects not only addressed pressing global issues but also offered practical solutions and public engagement strategies,
