We are pleased to announce a new PhD Studentship in the area of care and care relations in contemporary society.  The studentship will be hosted by ISS21 (Institute for Social Science in the 21st Century) in conjunction with the School of Applied Social Studies.

The studentship will cover EU fees, a yearly stipend of €10,000 and €2,000 in research/dissemination costs per year (for a period of 3 years). It is available to start from October 2024 and the closing date for applications/proposals is Friday 28^th June at midday.

What is the MSocSc Voluntary & Community Sector Management?

The MSocSc Voluntary and Community Sector Management is an interdisciplinary, part-time postgraduate degree specifically designed for those wishing to develop or advance their career in the voluntary and/or community sector. It is suitable both for those already working in the sector and those who work allied to it - for example, people working in the public sector who work closely with the community or voluntary sector.

Twelve Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) students together with two social work academics from the School of Applied Social Studies (Dr Lydia Sapouna and Ms Lyn Dorney) participated in an Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) on service user involvement in social work education in Valance, France 4-8 March.
