Attendance

Confirming your attendance

There is a strong correlation between your paricipation and active engagement at lectures, labs, seminars and other curricular activity and your success in your chosen programme. Your module coordinator will let you know how to register your attendance on a day-to-day basis.

Annually, at the start of Semester 2 we will email you to ask that you to confirm your intention to continue your studies in UCC.

You will be able to confirm you attendance on the Student Portal.

Repeat year attendance

If you choose to repeat a year either at either undergraduate or postgraduate level will need to register and re-attend any failed/absent modules before you can present for the examination.  You may have to sit the examination in the current programme of study if that examination is availalbe not in the repeat year.

To make sure you have met all the requirements for the subject you should consult the relevant department/school in relation to attendance at practicals etc in a repeat year.  Where the department/school does not require re-attendance, fees will be reduced and you should contact the Fees Office to avoid possible overpayment of fees E: fees@ucc.ie

Leave of absence

If you wish to take leave of absence of a year or more from a programme of study there are conditions and deadlines for such request.

You will find information on student leave of absence on the UCC Academic Calendar.
