Leadership for a Sustainable World: International Sustainability Autumn School at University College Cork. This Erasmus+ funded programme brought together postgraduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and academics from across Europe to explore what it means to be a sustainability leader in today’s rapidly changing world.
Led by the UCC Sustainability Academy, the Autumn School focused on developing key leadership skills and sustainability competences such as systems thinking, futures thinking, and societal impact, that complement deep academic expertise.
The School was developed through the UNIC (European University of Cities in Post-Industrial Transition) Universities Alliance, with expertise from partner universities, using methodologies for co-creation, critical reflection, and experiential learning - as developed in the UNIC Centre for City Futures. It is hoped the initiative will be repeated across UNIC partner universities for further impact.
