MultiLiLiTrans is collaborating with globale° – Festival for Border-Crossing Literature, taking place in Bremen and Bremerhaven from 26 October to 1 November 2026.
Established in 2007, the international literature festival brings together multilingual and transnational authors and works shaped by migration, linguistic diversity and cultural exchange. The festival programme includes readings, conversations, performances, workshops and other events across venues in Bremen.
As part of this year's festival, MultiLiLiTrans members of the Action will contribute to a series of events exploring multilingualism in literary practice, public engagement and creative production. The programme offers an opportunity to connect the Action's research on multilingual and translingual practices with literary and artistic approaches, and to engage with questions around how multilingualism can be made visible and meaningful in public cultural spaces.
Events:
Roundtable on the Future

28 October 2026 | 9:30 | Creative Hub, Pelzerstraße 40, Bremen
Languages: English and German
Admission: Free
In cooperation with COST Action and MultiLiLiTrans
The roundtable brings together Svenja Reiner, Daniel Schmidt, Barbara Siller-Chair of the COST Action MultiLiLiTrans, and Dana Grigorcea, moderated by Leandra Ossege.
The discussion will explore how literary events can become more multilingual and multi-voiced. While literary events are often organised primarily in the language of the country in which they take place, there are often practical obstacles that
multilingual audiences and organisers alike can encounter, including language barriers, translation and interpretation requirements, and the resources needed to facilitate multilingual communication.
The panel will look at practices and methods that could support multilingual festivals.
