How to enter the competitions

We have launched two singing competitions for primary and secondary schools on the theme of 'Imgine your EU'. You can interpret this theme broadly and be as creative, giggly, extravagant as you like! Please feel free to draw parallels, use metaphors and let the children use their creativity when it comes to the lyrics. 

FINAL SUBMISSIONS before 14 February 2024 through WeTransfer to hubeu@ucc.ie 

For primary schools

Two tunes this year: 'Firework' by Katy Perry and 'What makes you beautiful' by One Direction. Use the karaoke version that you can find on YouTube. Please use this to rehearse and record your submission. 

You can slow down the tune and shorten the song if you wish.

Once you have your lyrics ready, please upload a video of your class performing and a word document of your lyrics using WeTransfer to hubeu@ucc.ie . Only submissions with a video and a word document including lyrics will be accepted.

For secondary schools

Your class is asked to either compose the music and the lyrics of a song on 'Imagine our EU' or use the tunes from either 'Firework' by Katy Perry or 'What makes you beautiful' by Once Direction. We are counting on your students' creativity and musical talent.

Once you have composed the tune and lyrics,Once you have your lyrics ready, please upload a video of your class performing and a word document of your lyrics using WeTransfer to hubeu@ucc.ie . Only submissions with a video and a word document including lyrics will be accepted.

PRIZES FOR PRIMARY AND SECONDARY CLASSES AND THEIR TEACHERS

The winning primary classes will get a free art workshop in their classroom. The winning secondary classes will get a free workshop in UCC delivered by the Hub in Active European Citizenship.
