The Hub presents its work on active citizenship education at the 35th anniversary of Jean Monnet actions.
The European Commission celebrated 35 years of Jean Monnet actions which have seen academics and practitioners come together to analyse the EU's polity, policies and politics. For the occasion, four themes were identified and the Hub was asked to represent what is being done when it comes to active European citizenship education from a research and practical point of view.
Dr Philip Murphy presented his research on young people's perception of the EU through drawings. Dr Emmanuelle Schon Quinlivan facilitated a discussion with Professor Andrew Peterson from the University of Birmingham and Professor Monika Oberle from the Goethe Universitat, Frankfurht, on the opportunities and hurdles relating to citizenship and civic education on European issues.
