Call for expression of interest
University College Cork invites expressions of interest for a position of a part-time technical assistant in the project “Religious minorities archives and the war in Ukraine: The Adventist Historical Archive-Museum in Bucha” funded by the British Library Endangered Archives Program, project No EAP1511.
As part of the project, we are going to digitise archival collections of the Seventh-day Adventist Archive-Museum located in Bucha.
Requirement
The successful candidate will help the local team of archivists in Bucha in the process of digitization and the creation of metadata following the standards of the British Library. The technical assistant is expected to set up the digitization equipment (scanner, photo camera with a copy stand), to train the team of archivists and to invigilate the following digitization process on a weekly basis. We expect that the technical assistant will have knowledge in documentary photography (using Canon 850D with Sigma 70mm f2.8 DG Macro lens); basic knowledge of MS Excel for creation of the metadata; proficiency in English enough to understand written instructions provided by the British Library.

Conditions
The position does not imply official employment with the University College Cork, nor the British Library and the remuneration will be paid hourly.

Британська бібліотека та університет Корка оголошує конкурс на посаду технічного асистента на неповний робочий день у проекті «Архіви релігійних меншин і війна в Україні: Адвентистський історичний архів-музей у Бучі», що фінансується програмою Британської бібліотеки Endangered Archives Program, проект No EAP1511. В рамках проекту ми плануємо оцифрувати архівні колекції Архіву-музею адвентистів сьомого дня, розташованого в Бучі, Київська область.
Вимоги
Успішний кандидат допоможе місцевій команді архівістів у Бучі в процесі оцифрування та створення метаданих відповідно до стандартів Британської бібліотеки. Очікується, що технічний асистент налаштує обладнання для оцифрування (сканер, фотоапарат з підставкою для копіювання), проведе тренінг команді архівістів та щотижня контролюватиме процес оцифрування. Ми очікуємо, що технічний асистент матиме знання в галузі документальної фотографії (використовуючи Canon 850D з об'єктивом Sigma 70mm f2.8 DG Macro); базові знання MS Excel для створення метаданих; володіння англійською мовою на рівні, достатньому для розуміння письмових інструкцій, наданих Британською бібліотекою. Умови
Ця посада не передбачає офіційного працевлаштування в Університетському коледжі Корка, а також у Британській бібліотеці. Оплата праці погодинна.
