Prof Gülşah Kaner visits the School of Public Health.

This week, we were delighted to welcome our ERA4Health, FOODPATH colleague, Prof. Gülşah Kaner, to Cork and UCC. She joined the Food Policy Research Team, toured our vibrant campus, and visited the School of Public Health.
Gülşah, who serves as Head of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Izmir Katip Çelebi University in Türkiye, plays a vital role in leading her country's contribution to the FOODPATH project.
Türkiye's participation has recently included the development of the Healthy Food Environment Policy Index (Food-EPI Türkiye). This comprehensive effort involved mapping national policies, engaging with government officials, and hosting a successful expert workshop earlier this year. This milestone represents significant progress in identifying and addressing food-related health inequalities across the region.
We were lucky to enjoy some beautiful spring sunshine in Cork and took the opportunity to share a lovely lunch in Lea's at the Glucksman with Gülşah. A warm thank you to her for her continued leadership and collaboration on this important work.
