Biography

Frank holds a BSc in Software Engineering and MSc in Computer Science, both awarded by the University of Stuttgart, Germany. Currently, he is about to submit his PhD thesis in Applied Mathematics to the University College Cork, Ireland.

His research interests are applying nonlinear dynamics and computational methods to various research problems, such as modelling carcinogenesis (onset of cancer), investigating the occurrence of high-frequency oscillations in electric power converters, or user input on smartphones.

Research

Most recently, the application of magnetometry data for seabed mapping was added to the list above. Within this field, I focus as a research assistant on developing an end-user GUI application for processing raw magnetometry data and a subsequent visualization to enable the exploration of Ireland's surrounding seafloor.
