On June 02 and 03, the DSIS project hosted a two-day workshop on 'Dynamics of Transformation: Multi Societal System Transformation to Address the Polycrisis' at University College Cork.

The first day of the event included presentations on each of the societal institutions Economics (Professor William Hynes, Economist at the World Bank), Education (Professor Kelly Salchow MacArthur, Michigan State University and visiting researcher at UCC), Politics (Professor Kieran Keohane, UCC), Technology (Professor Andrej Zwitter, University of Klagenfurt), Gender (Susan Morgan, Ulster University) and Religion (Dr Oana Marian, UCC).

During the lunch break the group celebrated the launch of 'Human Flourishing' edited by Professor Andrej Zwitter (available Open Access) with chapters from Professor Maggie O'Neill and Dr Ian Hughes.

Day 2 began with a wonderful keynote from Professor Rebecca Henderson of Harvard Business School, author of Reimagining Capitalism in a World on Fire, on the role and importance of purpose and values in business as agents of transformation. After a poetry-inspired walk led by DSIS PhD student Bob Grumiau, the workshop concluded with work on the DSIS “Declaration on Deep Societal Transformation in a Time of Polycrisis”.
